We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Balanced Body Advanced Movement Practitioner Program with the first module in the series, Advanced Movement Principles: the Low Back.

About the Teachers:
Nora St. John, LAC

 

Founder: Balanced Body Education

Education Content Creator for Balanced Body

 

Teaching Pilates since 1988, Nora creates teacher training courses in Pilates, Anatomy in Three Dimensions and other modalities for Balanced Body Education.

She holds degrees in Biology, Dance and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is the author of 16 teacher training manuals and several magazine articles.

Nora has studied Dance, Chinese Medicine, manual therapy, The Franklin Method, Anatomy in Clay and personal training to enhance her understanding of the body in motion.

She is currently focused on creating educational experiences that are innovative, enlightening and effective.

Ky Russell, MA

 

Director: Pilates Education Collective

Balanced Body Educator

 

Ky is a Balanced Body Educator, specializing in Pilates and Anatomy in 3D teacher training programs. She is the Director of the Pilates Education Collective and the founder of the Pilates for Stress Relief Specialist Program, an Advanced Pilates teacher training program.

She has been teaching Pilates since 2002, including years practicing Pilates based rehabilitation at St Francis Hospital's Center for Sports Medicine. 

In addition to completing numerous Pilates and healing movement certification programs, Ky holds a Master's degree in Kinesiology and was a former faculty member at San Jose State University.

She is thrilled to be bringing AMP to Santa Cruz, and is excited to assist the next generation of Pilates instructors create rewarding, successful careers.

Sarah Artha Negara, MA

 

Professor: College of San Mateo Pilates Training Program

Balanced Body Educator

 

Sarah is a highly experienced Pilates instructor with a career spanning over 20 years. She founded the College of San Mateo’s Pilates Teacher Training Program in 2011 and co-founded PEC with Ky and Arwen in 2023.
 

She holds certifications as a Balanced Body® Pilates Educator, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, ACE® Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist, YogaFit® Instructor, and is a "Second-Generation Pilates Instructor" under Lolita San Miguel.

She enjoys working with diverse populations, athletes, and individuals with special conditions and is committed to fostering positive and supportive communities. As a business owner, she provides ongoing support and mentorship for graduates, ensuring they are well-prepared to embark on successful careers and positively impact their clients' lives.

About the Advanced Movement Practitioner Program

Advanced Movement Practitioner Program

 

The certification program consists of five distinct courses, each focusing on different parts of the body. These modules are designed to be flexible; you can take each one as a stand-alone course and in any order that suits your needs. However, to achieve the Advanced Movement Practitioner certification with Balanced Body, you must successfully complete all five modules.

 

Before participating in any Live Course, you are required to complete the corresponding Video Course first. While the Video Course is a prerequisite for the Live Course, it can also be taken independently if you prefer. Once registered for a course, you will gain access to the Video Course, which provides a thorough foundation and prepares you for the immersive, hands-on experience of the Live Course.

Intro to Movement Principles and Client Assessment
